Deadwood Travels

My Maiden Voyage to Deadwood, South Dakota

Have you ever been to Deadwood, South Dakota? I had never been there until about two weeks ago and there are a number of reasons I decided to take the trip.

- I really wanted to see Mount Rushmore, which is located only 45 minutes away.

- I like gambling. There is a rich gambling culture in this little town with a Old West flair.

- The History. Deadwood is rich with history about the American West. It is the place where Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane both lived. You can also find their gravestones in the town.

- The rolling hills of South Dakota are very relaxing. It's a great place for anyone who wants to get away from it all.

One of the highlights of my trip would have to be the $2 sandwich and salad buffet found in one of the local casinos. You can't beat lunch for 2 bucks that's for sure. Another highlight was the inexpensive booze. When gambling, I suggest taking advantage of the free libations often.

Of course I needed to check my email every once and awhile too. I am a bit of a work-o-holic as they say. Tragedy, struck day one of my two week stay in the town. Fortunately, I was able to order a new 92P1001 laptop battery. It was shipped the same day and saved the day when it arrived at my hotel a few days later.

If you're looking for an affordable getaway with a lot of excitement, I highly recommend visiting Deadwood, South Dakota. Click here to learn more about the town.
